Open Houses

Most Real Estate agents hate open houses. They think that they are a waste of time and get no results.

At Mound City Auctions we love open houses for our real estate auctions in St. Louis, they give us a chance to explain auctions to a lot of new potential bidders and sellers in a very short time. We do not use a lock box which forces our bidders to come in when the other bidders are there. Aha competition, it is a good thing.

We like to ask our attendees what they think the high bid will be and see what they think, it is a twist a regular real estate open house doesn't offer.

The state of real estate auctions

Real estate auctions are growing in acceptance in the St. Louis Area and all over the country. At Mound City Auctions we have seen a huge increase in the real estate we are offering and the amount of real estate that is selling.

The National Auctioneers Association reports a 47% increase in the numbers of residential real estate sold by auction from 2003 to 2008 making that section the fastest growing sector of all auctions. We have seen home we have listed go from signing the contract to offer the home at auction to a closed deal in less than 3 weeks total.

New Buyers Boker Commission Policy

Our new policy is designed to simplify the process for a Buyers Broker.

In all of our future Real Estate Auctions the Buyers Broker will need only give us a call, or send a letter on company letterhead then just sign in. Once the Brokers Bidder is the high bidder the Broker will receive a 2% commission on the hammer price (high bid price) of the auction at closing. Simple, easy, direct.

Only on Bidder per Broker will be allowed.
I look foreward to meeting you Brokers, now let's make some money.

Welcome

I wanted a place to blog about real estate auction so here we go...

I attended the National Auctioneers Association's Accredited Auctioneer or Real Estate class last week down in Atlanta.

I wanted to share a few thoughts about the class. I recommend this class to any auctioneer who wants to improve his knowledge of real estate auction practice. I learned a ton and it was like drinking from a fire hose. I met a lot of great auctioneers and none of them conduct auctions the same way.

Now I have to submit my report to receive my certification.
